The health care and life sciences industry is changing significantly. And current trends are posing significant challenges in how the health care industry communicates to an ever growing number of key audiences and stakeholders.
The Widmeyer Health Care Practice has tackled a variety of these kinds of challenges in recent months. We work with international pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer and leading nonprofits like the American Foundation for the Blind, specialty medical
societies like the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, and the National Community Pharmacists Association.

Widmeyer Proudly Welcomes New Clients: Northwestern University, American Road and Transportation Builders Association, Health Research Incorporated
Widmeyer Communications proudly welcomed several new clients in early 2007. Among them, Northwestern University, one of the nation's most renowned higher learning institutions, recently selected Widmeyer to conduct an extensive independent market research study.
Additionally, the American Road and Transportation Builders Association has engaged Widmeyer to assist them in the development and execution of a multi-year workforce development program.
And finally, the Consortium for Risk and Crisis Communication (comprised of Widmeyer
Communications and the Center for Risk Communication) was recently awarded a contract by
Health Research Incorporated (HRI), a not-for-profit corporation affiliated with the New York State
Department of Health. The Consortium will conduct faith-based communication audience research and risk and crisis communication trainings for HRI.
Widmeyer Welcomes New Senior Associate Kathy Gerber to Our Growing Health Care Practice
Widmeyer recently announced the appointment of
Kathy Gerber who will serve as a senior
associate in the firm’s rapidly growing health care practice. Gerber
previously conducted national and regional media
outreach for major corporations and industry groups
such as Toshiba American Business Solutions, Delta
Faucet Company, Lennox Hearth Products, and the
Copper Development Association.
2007 Scott D. Widmeyer Scholarship Winners at West Virginia University Announced
Widmeyer Communications maintains a scholarship program at West Virginia University. The program, which was endowed in 1998 in the name of Scott D. Widmeyer, regularly endows two scholarships a year and benefits benefits first generation college students and African American students attending the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism at WVU.
