Committee for Economic Development Leaders Call for 527 Reform in Recent Op-Ed
WASHINGTON, DC - Edward Kangas, co-chairman of the Committee for Economic Development's (CED) subcommittee on campaign finance and Charles Kolb, president of CED, recently called urgent attention to the need for 527 reform in their op-ed, "Time's running out for 527 reform."
The article, which was published in a recent issue of The Hill, notes that unregulated political contributions may undermine voters' confidence and democratic involvement and they call upon Congress to move legislation that regulates 527s and other political funding mechanisms.
Widmeyer will proudly continue our work with the CED in the months ahead. CED is an independent, nonpartisan organization of more than 200 business leaders and university presidents.
