Independent Task Force on Immigration America's Futures

The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit think-tank dedicated to the study of the movement of people worldwide.  MPI sought Widmeyer's assistance with raising awareness of their newly created bipartisan task force of prominent leaders concerned with immigration Widmeyer worked with MPI to develop and implement an aggressive media outreach strategy to inform reporters about the task force and further position MPI as a reputable source on immigration.  Widmeyer recommended that MPI hold a briefing to inform key immigration reporters about the upcoming task force announcement.

Results:
A number of national news outlets attended the task force briefing, including USA Today and the Associated Press. Other outlets in key markets also participated via conference call, including the Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News and the San Diego Union Tribune. Widmeyer successfully reached out to numerous reporters who had previously not worked with MPI and in turn helped MPI greatly expand their network of media contacts.
