National Immigration Forum (NIF)The Secure America and Orderly Immigration ActThe National Immigration Forum (NIF), the nation’s premier immigrant rights organization, sought Widmeyer Communications’ assistance to raise awareness surrounding its efforts to support comprehensive immigration reform legislation. Widmeyer worked with NIF to develop aggressive media outreach strategies, The Widmeyer team secured attendance from key reporters for a conference call to release poll results, which served as a platform in advance of the introduction of the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act (known as the McCain-Kennedy bill).Results:The Widmeyer team arranged interviews with NIF and coalition spokespeople to liberal talk radio media in order to help ensure a balance on the airwaves. Widmeyer continued to pitch radio shows and print media upon the announcement of the McCain-Kennedy legislation to help amplify the NIF’s message. Frank Sharry, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum and other leaders of coalition organizations were featured on national radio programs such as the Al Franken Show, Ed Schultz Show, and the Jim Bohannon Show, as well as shows in relevant media markets such as NPR Miami. |
