Widmeyer Helps AAP Raise Awareness of AccessText


Widmeyer facilitated a meeting between the Association of American Publishers and the Atlanta Journal Constitution to highlight the launch of the AccessText Network, which helps students with disabilities get the textbook materials they need for college. The meeting included a demonstration of the latest laptop screen-reading technology being utilized by students with disabilities.


College students with print-related disabilities have helpful new tool


AccessText Network, a new online service for college students with print-related disabilities, was the focus of an Inside Higher Education article. Widmeyer helped to secure this story for the Association of American Publishers (AAP), which created AccessText.

Widmeyer’s public affairs practice has been working on behalf of the Association of American Publishers to raise awareness of the AccessText Network – a new national online database that will make it easier and quicker for students with print-related disabilities to get the textbooks they need for their college courses.
