Katherine Paterson, best known for A Bridge to Terabithia was recently named by the Library of Congress as the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Her first New York appearance in this role to raise national awareness of the importance of young people’s literature as it relates to lifelong literacy, education and the development and betterment of the lives of young people will be at THIRTEEN & WLIW21’s Celebration of Teaching & Learning, a premier professional development conference for educators in New York City on March 5.
