I recently completed my Master’s thesis focused on how PR firms implement digital strategy. My client work at Widmeyer keeps me stimulated and happy to come to work!

Biography:

With a background rooted in nonprofit communications and civil service, Katie Reardon Lawson brings a wide range of experience to her clients. At Widmeyer, she has led the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Stop Bullying Now! Campaign, developed and promoted the DASH+ student contest on behalf of the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE Education Program, and raised the profile of the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics.

Before joining Widmeyer, Reardon Lawson worked as a copywriter for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and served the communications office of the Ohio House of Representatives Democratic Caucus. She also helped launch a national public awareness campaign on DC’s denial of voting representation while working at DC Vote, a nonprofit organization.

She previously worked in marketing and event planning at Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and served as a communications intern in the Capitol Hill press office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

Reardon Lawson received a Master’s degree in Communications from The Johns Hopkins University, and her thesis focused on digital strategy at PR agencies. Her undergraduate degree is from Duquesne University where she majored in Journalism and English and served as Managing Editor of The Duquesne Duke. She was named to the 2010 PR News 15-to-Watch list, which recognizes promising PR leaders age 30 and under.
