Creative thinking and big ideas are what separate a good business from a great one, especially in public relations. I enjoy problem solving, so I dive right into our creative discussions on how to find new and unique answers to our client’s dilemmas. It’s fun to see my ideas mix with the diversity of talent here at Widmeyer. We let the creative sparks fly, hammer it into a solid plan for the client, and presto! Ideas become solutions.
In 12 years I’ve made my prerequisite Washington tours of duty on Capitol Hill and in the association world, always with a healthy mix of public relations and government policy work. I recently received my MBA from Georgetown, which not only opened my mind to strategic business thinking, it also gets me a nifty discount on Hoya basketball season tickets. I earned my journalism degree from Oklahoma State University, but don’t tell my professors that I learned more as editor of the university’s daily newspaper than I ever did in class.
