I serve as a senior associate in Widmeyer’s higher education practice, bringing experience in media relations and crisis communications in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. I came to Widmeyer after serving as an account executive at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide Public Affairs. At Waggener, I developed and executed media relations and public affairs strategies, led coalition building and third-party outreach efforts, drafted opinion pieces for publication in major newspapers, and led on-line and new-media campaigns on behalf of Waggener’s clients. Previously I was the assistant director for external relations at the Center for Strategic International Studies (CSIS), where I coordinated all events for the Center and spearheaded its media efforts. Prior to that position I worked in the office of U.S. Congressman Adam Smith on Capitol Hill as a communications assistant and as a legislative correspondent on a wide array of issues.
