My approach to public relations is exactly how I take on life: full-steam ahead, with passion, a positive outlook, hard work and as a person either my clients or friends can count on. In my short career, I’ve worked to promote some of the top collegiate sports programs in the country, learned the ropes of a PR agency and communicated the message of a trade association, all before finding a home at Widmeyer.

I’m a die-hard sports fan and can always be found cheering on my alma mater, the West Virginia Mountaineers. Whether it’s an afternoon at the ballpark or cruising Eastern Market on a lazy Sunday, I love exploring all the great things DC has to offer.

Biography:

Erin Robertson is a senior account executive in Widmeyer’s public affairs practice, bringing a wide variety of experience to her clients.

At Widmeyer, Robertson’s work includes issues management, third-party activation, rapid response crisis communication and social media outreach for clients in the public affairs field, including federal government agencies, Fortune 50 companies, and non-profits.

Robertson worked on several aspects of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) award-winning Pool Safely campaign, which included the execution of Radio and Satellite Media Tours for CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum and Olympian Janet Evans that garnered more than 10 million earned media impressions. She also planned and executed multiple press conferences and roundtable discussions and secured op-eds for Chairman Tenenbaum that ran in top tier media markets in response to local drowning problems.

Working with the American Energy Innovation Council, Robertson played an integral part in planning the launch of the new organization, whose mission is to reestablish America's energy technology leadership through robust, public investments in the development of world-changing energy technologies.

Before joining Widmeyer, Robertson served as communications assistant at Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) where she helped move the organization online by actively promoting the need to engage with social media and developing many of the organization’s programs in this area. She also wrote a monthly column for the association’s magazine and served as the primary contact for the organization’s community outreach program.

Prior to ABC, Robertson was an intern in the corporate group at Edelman in DC where she worked with finance, retail, transportation and economic clients. Her first job out of college was as a communications assistant for the University of Connecticut Athletics, assisting with publicity for the most recognizable women’s basketball team in the country. Robertson graduated from West Virginia University’s Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations.
