Widmeyer Communications Takes on Campaign to
Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
on Behalf of the US Climate Action Partnership

Widmeyer Communications recently began working with the US Climate Action Partnership (USCAP), a group of businesses and leading environmental organizations that have come together to call on the federal government to quickly enact strong national legislation to require significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions. USCAP members include DuPont, Ford Motor Company, GE, The Nature Conservancy, ConocoPhillips, Dow Chemical, Natural Resources Defense Council, PepsiCo, Shell and the World Resources Institute (WRI), to name just a few.

Widmeyer’s initial one-year, half million dollar contract will fund the development and implementation of a major public affairs and media outreach effort on behalf of USCAP. Among other things, the Widmeyer team will work with USCAP leadership to develop strong messages on the issue of carbon credits (also known as “cap and trade” emission) and to secure significant media coverage (both nationally and in key Congressional districts).

A recent PRWeek article highlighted this new client win at the firm and quoted USCAP member and World Resources Institute VP of external relations Robin Murphy: “We're pleased Widmeyer has been engaged to help [USCAP] advance its nonpartisan call for action for national policy on cap-and-trade legislation on carbon emissions.”
