Robert C. Dickeson
Dr. Robert C. Dickeson serves as a Senior Counsel to Widmeyer higher education clients and as a member of the firm’s Higher Education Advisory Panel. He is a long-time leader in higher education, philanthropy, policy, research and institutional management. During his distinguished career in state government, higher education and business, Dickeson served in academic and administrative posts at five universities and chaired two governors’ cabinets.
Dickeson was senior vice president for policy and organizational learning at the Lumina Foundation for Education, from which he retired at the end of 2005. He has also worked as senior vice president at USA Group, president and CEO of Noel-Levitz Centers, president of the University of Northern Colorado, cabinet chair for Arizona Governor Bruce Babbitt, and chief of staff to Colorado Governor Roy Romer.
He chaired blue-ribbon commissions appointed by three governors in two states, has been an officer of 30 corporate, government, foundation or public affairs organizations, and served as Colorado commissioner to the Education Commission of the States.
Dickeson was also a graduate faculty member of four universities in addition to his administrative responsibilities. He is the author of more than 100 publications in the fields of higher education leadership, policy and public administration.
Dickeson earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
