Jody Hassett Sanchez
Jody Hassett Sanchez is an acclaimed news and documentary producer, with 17 years of experience in network television, most recently at ABC. Hassett Sanchez covered religion, culture, and education for ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, and filed stories for Nightline.
Prior to joining ABC News, Hassett Sanchez traveled the globe with CNN for almost twelve years. As the State Department producer covering Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, she reported from such diverse places as Mongolia and a refugee camp in Macedonia. She also produced Globalview, a weekly discussion of international issues seen worldwide on CNN International.
Hassett Sanchez also served as a senior producer of CNN’s Cold War Postscript, a 24-part weekly program examining connections between the history of the Cold War and global affairs today. She was also part of the CNN team that won an Emmy award for breaking news coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and the ABC team that won an Emmy for 9/11 coverage.
Hassett Sanchez is currently president of Pointy Shoe Productions, a documentary and long-form TV production company. She has spent the past year filming in India, Pakistan and Africa for a documentary on the modern slave trade.
