Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery

Widmeyer Communications was tapped as the Agency of Record to create advertising for the announcement of the opening of the Smithsonian’s Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture. The historic building, which houses the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery opened on July 1, 2006 and is considered the centerpiece of a revitalized downtown Washington, DC.

The six-month campaign was deemed highly successful and helped draw significant crowds to the museum.  The campaign featured a multimedia mix of creative including print, online, radio and public transportation advertisements from June through December 2006.
